More on How to Taste Test News Information for Poison

Here is an editorial printed in the daily The Dallas Morning News. Newspapers today editorialize for political agenda. For example, in the portion of the editorial reprinted below, the writer clearly states that the newspaper supports fair and equal treatment under the law. In actuality, what the newspaper is truly saying, in a round about way, is that it supports gay marriage. Their policy of editorializing to manipulate political agenda contrasts with the sophisticated method of peer reviewing and the philosophical style of critically thinking for substance. Here is the portion of the editorial:
For supporters of same-sex marriage, last week’s U.S. Supreme Court relative inaction was good news, wasn’t it?
The high court let stand rulings from three federal appeals courts that struck down bans on gay marriage in Indiana, Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. Those three courts have jurisdiction over six other states that ban gay marriage — Colorado, Kansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia and Wyoming — and logically would follow precedent to do away with their bans, too.
So for Americans who believe in fair and equal treatment under the law, as this newspaper does, how is this not positive?
As the writer above is pitting heterosexuals against homosexuals, his or her article perpetuates a false dichotomy. This false dichotomy distracts the people from a higher vision of an eternal conflict which has been ongoing between tyranny and the people. Therefore, I deem this article deceitful. As such, I have chosen to spit the rest of it out by not reading it.

In other words, why do we feel the need to read everything? We certainly don't eat everything. Poison comes in many guises. One way would be rot for example. Another might be disease brought about by bacteria and viruses. Another is outright poison.  If a person can't read, then they won't take poisonous information into their systems.  So, we shouldn't just be readers, but we should always be vigilant dieters concerning what we allow into our systems.

So, as we are careful in what we eat, so we should be careful in what we read.
